About Jericho

We are a fellowship of Jesus Christ, a family in God, and lead by the Comforter.

Jericho Friends Meeting is a meeting in Randolph County, Indiana.  Members are of the Society Of Friends, also called Quakers.  Jericho Friends Meeting is under Jericho Friends Monthly Meeting, a part of the Winchester Quarterly Meeting and of the Indiana Yearly Meeting as well as Friends United Meeting.

The Meeting House is located in the rural area on the west edge of Wayne Township.  Many families are in the lineage of the original founders of the meeting.  The current meeting house is the third building, being built in 1863.  It has undergone several changes over the years.  You can see them in pictures in the history pages on this web-site.

Members and attendees make up the family of Jericho.  All are invited and welcome to share in our worship services and programs.

We are a programmed meeting for worship, with hints of how our ancestors would of been meeting for worship.  A typical meeting for worship at Jericho starts with announcements, hymn, children's worship (all participate in the song of the month, followed by a children's story), occasionally a quite time for all to center their hearts, minds and souls to be attentive to the presence of God among us.  Scriptures and Message are delivered followed by an open worship, where those who are lead to speak, recite a reading or scripture, or sing, what ever the Lord leads them to do.  Once a sense of clearness is reached, and all hearts are clear a hymn is sung and a closing prayer is lead along with those who wish to join the minister of the Word during that time.  Once meeting for worship is concluded, Service Begins.

We meet every Sunday for:
Sunday School at 9:30 am
Meeting for Worship at 10:30 am
